The Daihatsu Boon 1.0L is a compact Japanese-market hatchback that found its way to Pakistan through the grey import route. Powered by a 996cc three-cylinder engine paired with a CVT, it sits in the light city-car segment alongside the Mira and Move. The engine is tuned for economy rather than outright pull, so expect relaxed rather than peppy performance. The CVT keeps city driving smooth and low-effort, though it can feel sluggish on highway merges. Realistic city fuel economy tends to fall in the 12-15 km/l range depending on traffic and AC use.
Because this is a grey import and officially discontinued, parts availability is the main concern. Genuine Daihatsu parts require sourcing through importers, and not every mechanic in smaller cities will be familiar with the platform. Lahore and Karachi have better support networks for Japanese kei-class cars. CVT servicing needs attention — fluid changes at recommended intervals matter more on these small transmissions. Resale is moderate; buyers tend to be cautious about discontinued grey imports.
