Honda BR-V

The Honda BR-V is a 7-seat crossover built on the Brio platform, sitting between a compact hatchback and a proper SUV. Launched in Pakistan around 2017, it targets families who need the third row without stepping up to a larger vehicle. The 1.5L i-VTEC petrol engine is naturally aspirated and fairly relaxed rather than sporty — it does the job in city traffic but feels stretched on motorway overtakes with a full load. The CVT automatic is smooth for stop-and-go driving, while the manual gearbox gives better fuel returns, typically in the 10-13 km/l range in urban conditions depending on load and AC use.

Being a Honda product, parts are widely available across major Pakistani cities, and most Honda-familiar mechanics can service it without difficulty. The BR-V generation from this era is generally reliable, though owners should watch the CVT fluid condition, AC performance in peak summer, and suspension bushings on rougher roads as the vehicle ages past 6-7 years. Resale is moderate — the BR-V never dominated the market the way Civic or City did, so depreciation is a bit steeper.
