The Hyundai i10 1.0 MPI is a small city hatchback powered by a 998cc three-cylinder petrol engine paired with a manual gearbox. It sits in the budget-conscious urban commuter segment, competing with cars like the Suzuki Alto and Wagon R. The 1.0 litre engine is modest rather than punchy — adequate for city lanes and light highway stretches, but not built for fast overtaking. In stop-and-go Karachi or Lahore traffic, expect reasonable fuel economy in the 12-14 km/l range depending on driving habits. The manual gearbox is light and easy to operate daily.
The i10 has not been officially assembled in Pakistan, so parts availability is more limited compared to Suzuki or Toyota platforms. Mechanics in major cities can handle basic servicing, but sourcing specific components may require grey market imports. Resale value tends to be softer than locally assembled alternatives, and the buyer pool is narrower. For older examples, check the condition of suspension bushings, AC compressor, and engine mounts as routine service items.
