MG HS

The MG HS is a Chinese-made mid-size SUV sold in Pakistan across four variants: the entry 1.5 Turbo, the Essence, the PHEV plug-in hybrid, and the top-spec Trophy. The 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine is reasonably punchy for city use and highway overtaking, and the automatic gearbox is smooth enough in daily Karachi or Lahore traffic. Fuel economy in city conditions typically falls in the 10-13 km/l range depending on driving style and AC load.

MG has been building its dealer and parts network in Pakistan, though it is still maturing compared to Toyota or Honda. Local mechanics are less familiar with the platform, so you are more dependent on authorised service centres. The PHEV variant suits buyers with access to home charging and can meaningfully cut running costs. Resale values for MG vehicles in Pakistan are still finding their footing, and the brand does not yet hold value as strongly as Japanese alternatives in the used-car market.

The HS offers a spacious cabin and a feature-rich package at a competitive price point, which is its main draw. The honest limitation is after-sales support depth outside major cities. Best suited to urban buyers who want a large, well-equipped SUV and are comfortable with authorised-centre servicing.
