The Pathfinder 3.5L SL is a three-row family SUV built around a naturally aspirated 3.5L V6 paired with a CVT. The SL sits in the mid-to-upper trim range, offering features like leather seating, a larger infotainment screen, and driver assistance tech depending on the generation. The V6 pulls smoothly at highway speeds and handles seven-passenger loads without feeling strained, but in Karachi or Lahore stop-and-go traffic the CVT can feel sluggish and the fuel consumption will realistically sit in the 7-9 km/l range. It is aimed at families who regularly need the third row and want a more composed highway ride than a typical body-on-frame SUV.
The Pathfinder is not a common vehicle in Pakistan, which is the main practical concern. Authorised Nissan dealers can source parts but lead times can be long, and most local mechanics outside major cities will have limited hands-on experience with the platform. CVT servicing requires proper fluid and interval discipline — skipping this is a known way to shorten transmission life on this generation. Resale is slower than Toyota or Honda equivalents, and values can drop noticeably if the CVT shows any issues.
How 3.5L SL compares to the rest of the lineup.
