The Honda Jazz 1.5 e:HEV is a full hybrid hatchback sitting at the practical end of Honda's electrified lineup. It pairs a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with two electric motors and a small 1.0 kWh battery, running mostly on electric drive in city traffic and switching to the petrol engine at higher speeds. The CVT here behaves differently from a conventional unit — Honda calls it an e-CVT, and in practice it feels smoother and more responsive than typical CVT setups, especially in stop-and-go Karachi or Lahore traffic where the electric motor does most of the work. Expect noticeably better fuel returns than a conventional 1.5L hatchback in urban conditions.
In the Pakistani market, hybrid vehicles from Honda have a growing but still limited service network compared to conventional petrol cars. The Jazz platform is well-known globally but less common locally than the City or Civic, so finding a specialist familiar with the e:HEV hybrid system matters more than with mainstream models. Battery and inverter health are worth checking on any used example. Resale for hybrid hatchbacks in Pakistan is improving as fuel prices stay high, but the market is narrower than for conventional sedans.
