The MG 7 is a mid-to-large Chinese sedan positioned against the likes of Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla Altis in the upper-mainstream segment. Two variants are on offer: the 1.5T Trophy with a turbocharged 1.5-litre petrol engine, and the range-topping 2.0T Trophy+ with a larger 2.0-litre turbo unit. Both use automatic transmissions. The 1.5T delivers a reasonably brisk driving experience for city use, while the 2.0T adds noticeably more pull for highway runs. Expect city fuel economy in the 9-12 km/l range depending on traffic and driving style.

MG is backed by SAIC and has an established local assembler presence in Pakistan, which helps with parts supply compared to grey-import Chinese brands. That said, the MG 7 is a relatively recent nameplate here, so independent workshop familiarity is still building — dealer service centres remain the more reliable option for now. Resale trajectory is not yet well established given the model's newness, so buyers should factor that uncertainty in when comparing against Japanese alternatives with proven residual values.

The MG 7 suits a buyer who wants a larger, feature-loaded sedan with turbocharged performance and is comfortable relying on the dealer network for servicing. The honest limitation is that resale value and long-term parts support are still unproven in the Pakistani market.
