The Toyota Roomy is a tall-boy compact hatchback that sits between a regular city car and a mini MPV. It comes in two variants for the Pakistani market: the base 1.0 X and the sportier 1.0 Custom G-T Turbo. The turbocharged Custom G-T is the one to consider if you want more pull in urban traffic — the 1.0 turbo engine delivers noticeably better response than the naturally aspirated X, especially when merging or carrying a full load. Both use a CVT, which feels smooth in stop-and-go but can feel a bit detached if you push hard.

The Roomy is a Japanese domestic market vehicle, which means it is not officially assembled in Pakistan. Parts availability is more limited compared to mainstream Toyota Corolla or Yaris platforms, and fewer local mechanics are deeply familiar with the 1KR-FE or turbo variants. Owners typically rely on imported spare parts, which can add to running costs. Resale is reasonable in larger cities where JDM imports have an established buyer base, but it is slower to move in smaller markets.

The Roomy suits buyers who need practical interior space and a high roofline — useful for families with child seats or elderly passengers — in a compact footprint. The honest limitation is parts sourcing; budget for that before buying.
