Toyota Century

The Toyota Century is a large, chauffeur-driven sedan built for executives and formal use. It sits above the Lexus LS in Toyota's own hierarchy and is offered in two variants: a 5.0 V12 petrol and a 5.0 Hybrid. The V12 is a naturally aspirated unit that prioritises smoothness and refinement over outright performance, while the Hybrid pairs a V8 with an electric motor for near-silent low-speed running — exactly what a rear-seat passenger notices most. Both transmit power through automatic gearboxes tuned for seamless, unhurried shifts. In Pakistani city traffic, the Hybrid will return noticeably better mileage than the V12, though neither is economical by any standard.

The Century is a grey-import or special-order vehicle in Pakistan, which means parts availability is limited and mechanics familiar with the platform are rare outside Karachi and Lahore. The V12 in particular requires specialist attention for anything beyond routine servicing. Resale is narrow — the buyer pool is small — so this is not a vehicle you purchase expecting easy liquidity. That said, the platform is mechanically robust and well-engineered, and examples that have been properly maintained tend to hold their condition well.

The Century suits a buyer who wants the quietest, most composed rear-seat experience available and is not concerned about running costs or parts logistics. The honest limitation is that ownership infrastructure in Pakistan is thin, and sourcing components can be slow and expensive. Best suited to institutional buyers or collectors rather than daily private use.
