The Toyota Yaris replaced the Vitz-based lineup in Pakistan from 2020 onward, sitting between the Alto/Cultus segment and the Corolla. It comes in 1.3-litre and 1.5-litre petrol variants, with both manual and CVT automatic options. The 1.3 engine is adequate for city use but feels relaxed rather than peppy — fine for commuting, less so for highway overtaking. The 1.5 in the ATIV X trim has noticeably more pull and suits buyers who do regular motorway runs. The CVT is smooth in stop-and-go traffic, though it can feel hesitant under hard acceleration. Expect roughly 10-13 km/l in city conditions depending on AC use and traffic.

Being a relatively recent Toyota Indus model, parts are widely available at dealerships and local auto markets. Mechanics across major cities are familiar with the platform. The Yaris has generally shown solid reliability in its first few years, though some owners have noted the CVT requires clean fluid maintenance to stay trouble-free. Resale is reasonable but trails the Corolla — the 1.5 ATIV X variants hold value better than the base 1.3 trims.

The Yaris suits a buyer who wants a proper sedan with Toyota reliability at a lower price point than the Corolla. The honest limitation is interior space — rear legroom is tighter than the Corolla and even some hatchback rivals. Best fit: urban professionals or small families wanting a fuel-efficient, low-hassle daily driver.
